Martyn's Law Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 Free self-assessment

Get ready for Martyn's Law

Find out in 2–3 minutes whether your premises or event is in scope of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, and whether the standard or enhanced tier applies — then build everything the regulator needs in one guided workbook.

Free to start · No account needed for the self-assessment

Not yet in force. Martyn's Law received Royal Assent on 3 April 2025 with an implementation period of at least 24 months, so its duties are not expected to apply before April 2027 — time to understand and prepare for your obligations.

What is Martyn's Law?

Martyn's Law places a duty on those responsible for certain public premises and events to take steps to keep people safer from terrorism. Whether it applies to you — and how much you need to do — depends on the type of place and how many people it holds. Our free self-assessment works that out for you, and the workbook helps you do what's required.

Which tier applies to you?

The self-assessment tells you. Here's the difference:

Standard tier

Smaller qualifying premises

Simple, low-cost steps: making your people aware, and having a plan for what they do if something happens.

Enhanced tier

Larger premises & events

Everything in the standard tier, plus documented public-protection procedures and measures to reduce the risk in the first place.
